Welcome to the do-not-call registers web site set up by the Office of the Communications Authority.

The establishment of do-not-call registers is an important part of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Ordinance to regulate the sending of commercial electronic messages. The provision of do-not-call registers serves two main objectives:

(a) to provide users of electronic addresses (such as fixed/mobile phone/fax numbers) with a convenient means by which they may notify senders of commercial electronic messages that they do not wish to receive such messages at those electronic addresses; and

(b) to provide senders of commercial electronic messages (such as telemarketers) with a convenient means by which they may ascertain whether a user of a particular electronic address does not wish to receive such messages at that electronic address.

This web site provides information for the general public and senders of commercial electronic messages to understand do-not-call registers. For the public, they can find comprehensive information about how to register their telephone numbers under the “Information for Public” section. As for senders of commercial electronic messages, relevant information on access to do-not-call registers is given in the “Information for Industry” section.
